"I can go ANYWHERE!"

Words spoken from a three year old who until today has never had the capabilities to EASILY get from point A to point B. Piper got her wheelchair and walker today. The walker is sitting in the wheelchair's shadow at this moment. She is completely captivated by her new wheels and her new sense of freedom. She has NO interest in trying out the walker. I'm hoping when the newness wears off, she will be more willing to work with the walker as well. We brought the new contraptions home this afternoon....we may have to get rid of a couch to make room for them! LOL! She stayed in that wheelchair wheeling around the house like an old pro for hours. She wore blisters into her fingers and STILL cried when it was time to get out to go to bed. Needless to say...she LOVES her new set of wheels!
The whole thing is a little bitter sweet. It's amazing to see how happy she is to be able to get from the living room to her bedroom all by herself.....at the same time, I'm watching my baby move around the house in a WHEELCHAIR! It kind of hit home a little harder that she is disabled.
So....the next step.....get her some cool gloves so she won't get blisters on her fingers tomorrow!

I'm coming over to the dark side!!!

Well.....

I'm really not sure that I understand all this blogging stuff and I KNOW that I don't need anything else to be addicted to.....but decided, WHAT THE HECK! Let's see what this is all about! I am Angie. I have been married to my husband, Sean for 4.5 years.....we have been together for 11.5 years. Ohmigosh......that's a loooong time! We have a BEAUTIFUL 3 year old daughter, Piper and a handsome, 4 moth old son, Riley. My husband may deny it but there WILL be at least one more :)
Our daughter was born 9 weeks premature and now has cerebral palsy as a result. We have had our share of roller coaster rides in the journey that began when she was born. Luckily the only thing that is affected is her motor function....mainly in her legs. Cognitively she's a smart as a whip (where did that saying come from anyway?) She is a spunky little DRAMA QUEEN and the light of our lives! I feel lucky to be the one to take this journey with her and am thankful for this version of life that I get to experience because of her.
Riley is another light in our lives. He is a happy little baby. A complete joy! He is in the process of discovering his hands and feet, but hasn't quite figured it out yet. In a sense he is like having our first baby all over again. We will get to experience things with him that Piper never did.....like crawling and walking. Never had to worry about baby-proofing before! We are sooo looking forward to what lies ahead. Piper is the BEST big sister and tries to help as much as she can! She is totally IN LOVE with her "little buddy", as she calls him.
Alright......so that's me in a nutshell........
